About the Senior Accountant
Upperline is looking for a Senior Accountant to support our team by performing full scope accounting for our corporate, physician practices and ancillaries. The Senior Accountant will have full month-end close responsibilities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting. Candidates must be problem solvers who are eager to tackle problems and tasks, both big and small, have exceptional attention to detail and be self-starters with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing growth environment. In addition to standard accounting expertise, ideal candidates will also possess strong analytical skills and have a multi-entity healthcare experience. As we continue to grow rapidly throughout the U.S., this position is a new addition to Upperline’s small accounting team and presents a wide range of future career growth opportunities within the company.
This is a hybrid position working in-office Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from our Nashville headquarters.
What You’ll Do
Execution of daily accounting responsibilities including month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting for clinics, corporate and new ancillaries
Present summary of current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
Manage fixed asset accounting
Prepare month end accruals
Convert cash basis accounting to accrual accounting method when applicable
Analyze and create reporting on the company’s KPIs
Handle bank reconciliations and other cash management activities
Manage accounts receivable reporting and analysis
Assist in financial reporting
Assist with special projects as assigned by management
Effectively communicate with newly acquired practices to obtain necessary data and successfully transition them to Upperline
Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementation
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Qualifications of the Senior Accountant
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Master’s degree or CPA is a plus
3 - 5+ years general accounting experience
Multi-entity accounting experience; multi-practice healthcare experience is preferred
Combination of public accounting and industry experience is a plus
Intermediate to advanced Excel experience
Previous experience working in accounting software systems - Intacct experience is a plus
Strong analytical skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maturely interact across a broad spectrum of people, including multiple levels of management
Demonstrated experience prioritizing, organizing and meeting time-sensitive deadlines
Values exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Experience in high-growth or early stage start-up is a plus

Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience
