Sinceevery duty associated with this classification may not be describedherein, employees may be required to perform duties not specificallyspelled out in this classification description, but which may bereasonably considered to be incidental in the performing of their dutiesjust as though they were actually written out in this description.*## TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES Install, configure, modify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and supportcomputer software applications, standard software, specialtyapplications, and related hardware or peripheral devices. Provide experienced technical assistance, functional applicationsupport, and user training; resolve software and system-relatedissues within scope of authority and training. Interview users to collect information about application or systemproblems, lead users through diagnostic procedures, and determinewhether issues are related to software, configuration, workflow, oruser operation. Define user problems, research and isolate error sources, implementapplication-based or configuration-based solutions, and follow upwith users to ensure optimal system functionality. Deploy new and enhanced software applications, updates, and relatedcomponents for County users and specialized department systems,including integrated or mobile applications. Replace or update defective or outdated software packages,configurations, or related components as needed. Maintain and support IT hardware, specialized client equipment,audio/visual equipment, and peripheral devices, and performpreventive maintenance to minimize future system or applicationfailures. Evaluate County IT systems and identify application or system issuesthat may require improved technologies, updated configurations, orrevised policies and procedures. Research technical issues and recommend software solutions,application enhancements, components, and accessories; preparereports on software utilization, system performance, and operationalissues. Refer complex problems that are beyond the skills of the PCSpecialist to senior technical staff and track the issue until ithas been resolved. Cross-train in technical skills for maintaining IT hardware,software, databases, and servers, with emphasis on applicationsupport and system functionality. Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customerrecords, and restricted County information. Perform other related duties as required.## MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK High school diploma or GED equivalent. Three (3) years of experience IT Technical Support. Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experiencemay substitute for the minimum requirements.Preferred Qualifications Arizona residents must have an Arizona Drivers License upon hire;newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days ofhire. May be re quired to obtain Terminal Operator Certification for accessto Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS). Successfully complete a thorough background investigation. May be required to obtain additional specific skills training andtechnical certifications, including A+, N+, and Microsoft CertifiedProfessional.## KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of technical support principles, processes, and standards. Knowledge of capabilities of IT systems, including networkedenvironments and specialized hardware and software applications. Knowledge of hardware, software, and peripheral equipmenttroubleshooting techniques. Skill in installing, configuring, testing, operating, andmaintaining IT hardware, equipment, software, and computer systems. Skill in using basic tools, equipment, and procedures formaintaining and repairing computers and peripheral devices.
