Health Plus Management (HPM) is a Physician Support Organization and market leader in clinical practice management in the physical medicine and rehabilitation market with 50+ locations serving Long Island, NYC, Westchester, Upstate NY, NJ and Connecticut. HPM provides independent physician practices specializing in musculoskeletal care with professional business development, marketing and back-office support typically seen in much larger organizations, thereby enabling clients to start and/or grow their private practice beyond what might otherwise be feasible (while maximizing clinical service and patient care).Health Plus Management is seeking an energetic, patient-centric and detail-oriented Medical Records Coordinator who will be responsible for creating, retrieving, and updating patient related information according to company policy, to ensure a smooth patient flow for the office.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for pulling and reviewing all charts prior to the doctor's appointment to ensure that all medical records are on fileObtain records from outside sources for preview prior to the office visitPrepare complete Medical Records for the Billing Department as requestedCreate chart folders (includes adhering of all labels and hole punching)Review charts to ensure all patient demographics information is complete/ accurate, and follow up if necessaryPrepare patient charts to include demographic information, previous x-rays, tests, etc.Process the release of information, organize, prep, and scan documents into the electronic systems and ensure the efficient processing of requests for patient informationCollect all necessary paperwork and authorizations needed for billingScan information to patient's electronic recordMaintain patient confidentiality in line with HIPPA guidanceOther administrative tasks as assignedKnowledge And Experience1+ years of medical administrative experience preferredKnowledge of medical terminology & procedures preferredExperience with an EMR system preferredKnowledge of plaintiff, defendant and third-party requests, and HIPAA requirements for release of PHI, preferredStrong computer knowledge and windows program including Microsoft word/excelSkills And AbilitesExcellent verbal and written communicationExceptional organizational and time-managements skills - the ability to multi-task is a mustAdaptability and flexibility while working in a fast-paced environmentProblem-solving ability and aptitudeOutcome-focused, with an ability to work under pressureA solution-oriented mindsetA strong sense of urgency and focus in accomplishing tasksPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pmPay: $18/hour
