Supply Chain Rotational ProgramGenerac's Supply Chain Rotational Program provides early career individuals with a 3-year rotational career experience which consists of three, one-year rotations across Generac's Supply Chain Departments. The program develops emerging talent through comprehensive exposure to multiple supply chain functions within a global manufacturing environment. Program participants rotate through various Generac locations in meaningful supply chain roles varying from planning, procurement, material analysis, transportation, new product introduction, and other critical supply chain positions to build broad-based enriching supply chain acumen. Participants have unique access to networking opportunities, access to top executives, community involvement, and personalized mentorship. Upon successful program completion, individuals build skills and supply chain acumen accelerating career growth in various supply chain professional positions based on years of hands-on emersion across the end-to-end supply chain operation at Generac.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain Planning & Analysis
Develop and maintain production plans, demand forecasts, and inventory optimization strategies across multiple product lines and geographic regions
Analyze supply chain performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Create and maintain material requirements planning (MRP) systems and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal inventory levels
Procurement & Supplier Management
Execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance assessments to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to qualify new suppliers and materials while maintaining compliance with corporate standard
Material Analysis & Control
Monitor material flow, analyze usage patterns, and identify opportunities for standardization and cost reduction
Manage obsolete and excess inventory disposition while implementing controls to prevent future occurrences
Coordinate with finance teams to ensure accurate inventory valuations and cost accounting practices
New Product Introduction
Support partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth product launches and material availability
Develop supply chain strategies for new products including supplier selection, capacity planning, and risk mitigation
Create and maintain bills of materials (BOM) accuracy and coordinate engineering change management processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
Lead cross-functional project teams to implement supply chain improvements and resolve complex operational challenges
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and participate in strategic planning initiatives
Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization
Minimum Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
Previous internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations roles
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Preferred Job Requirements:MBA
APICS CSCP, CPIM, or other relevant supply chain professional certifications
0-2 years of relevant experience in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or related field
Advanced proficiency in supply chain planning software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and data visualization tools
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Experience with vendor and supplier management
Knowledge of trade compliance, logistics, and global sourcing practices
Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives or cross-functional projects
Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to lead a team
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with supply chain software applications
Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and global supply chain principles
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
Must be able to interface with a multi-shift operation and frequent other locations as necessary
Ability to relocate to another regional Generac location
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
