Senior Solutions Engineer

Overview In this role you design highly available data center and infrastructure solutions, covering infrastructure, database, storage, systems and backup layers. You lead migration/upgrade efforts and prepare test and QA plans, guiding remedy activities. You support project teams on infrastructure enhancements, including VDI migrations and disaster recovery planning, while translating client needs into optimized, cost-effective designs. You work cross-functionally to leverage infrastructure expertise and drive resilient, high-performing solutions. ResponsibilitiesDesign highly available solutions across infrastructure, database, storage, systems and backup layersCreate and implement migration and upgrade best practicesDevelop and lead test and quality assurance plans; drive remedy effortsSupport infrastructure enhancement projects (e.g., Virtual Desktop migration, ISO process improvements, disaster recovery/BCP)Respond to client questions and analyze what-if scenariosCollaborate with IT infrastructure specialists to optimize designs and applications Key requirementsExpert-level Windows and Linux OS administration on Intel-based serversOracle 11g DBMS administration in high-volume, transactional environmentsMicrosoft SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and 2014 administration with Always On and clusteringExperience designing and implementing complex, integrated infrastructure solutions (hardware, software, storage, virtualization, and services)Experience developing standards for integrating physical, virtual, and cloud technologiesDisaster recovery solution development for complex architecturesISO 9001 IT infrastructure compliance familiarityAbility to optimize network resources and develop cross-team inter-relationships among enterprise network elements and servicesExperience supporting Mobile Devices across multiple hardware (tablets, laptops) and operating systems (Android, iOS, Linux, Windows Mobile)Experience with Enterprise Mobile Device Management solutions (MaaS360, MobileIron, AirWatch)Active Directory experienceKnowledge/experience with Exchange 2010 and Office 365 desiredCollaborationAnalytical thinkingProblem solvingWindows Server administrationLinux administrationOracle 11g DBMS
