ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Load and unload trucks with attention to detail. Ability to prepare all necessary shipping papers, manifests, custom papers, SDS’s, inspection forms and weigh tickets needed to complete shipping transactions.
Inspect all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure that all quality standards are met.
Move finished and raw material inventory throughout production facilities and warehouses to achieve production and shipping schedules.
Deliver inventory to various Harrell’s manufacturing and warehousing locations.
Work in a safe manner at all times including awareness and adherence to OSHA regulations/standards, DOT regulations, and DHS guidelines.
Report any accidents, near misses, or any unsafe conditions to proper supervisory staff or safety personnel.
Maintain safe and clean work environment using organizational skills and good housekeeping practices.
Assist in the counting of physical inventory.
Availability to work on weekends and holidays required.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of hauling product on flatbeds and/or vans with clean driving record for previous 3 years.
1-2 years of prior experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Ability to be certified to operate a variety of powered industrial trucks, i.e.., sit-down forklifts, stand-up lifts, sweepers, scissor lifts, golf carts, etc.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Able to work at a rapid pace requiring organizational and multi-tasking skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Meet DOT requirements which includes passing DOT drug screens, DOT physicals, and DOT background checks as applicable.
Ability to operate warehouse lift equipment (Including sit-down forklifts, stand-up lifts, etc.) for extended periods of time.
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The use of a computer, phone, and RF equipment – Must be able to see, type, write, finger, grasp, and sit; must be able to use a mobile phone.
Regularly lift and/or move objects 50 pounds.
Ability to work from heights including ability to work in lift equipment and to climb ladders.
Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
Must have vision abilities that are required to safely operate powered industrial trucks including distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees will be required to work both inside and outside in hot/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions while wearing required PPE.
Employees frequently are required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
Employees may be in production areas where decibel levels might exceed 85 decibels (db), requiring the employee to wear hearing protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Must wear steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, high visibility vest/shirt, and gloves.
Recommended (Area specific): Respirator, back brace, and safety suit, other. Will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
