JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Title: Heavy Duty Truck Assembler and Up-FitterLocation: Marshfield, Wisconsin Company: Interstate Assembly SystemsShift: Second Shift Monday - Thursday, 2:00pm - 12:00am - Every Friday,Saturday, and Sunday off!! Job Overview: Heavy Duty Truck Assemblers andUp-Fitters are skilled technicians responsible for assembling,modifying, and customizing heavy-duty trucks and their components tomeet specific customer or operational requirements. This role involvesworking with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuringquality standards, and adhering to safety protocols in a manufacturingor workshop environment. Key Responsibilities: Assembly: Install andassemble major truck components such as cranes, axles, and smallerchassis components (toolboxes, chock holders, cone holders, etc.) usingHand Tools, Power Tools, And Specialized Equipment. Up-FittingCustomize trucks by adding specialized equipment or features, such asPTO, hydraulic systems, toolboxes, or custom bodies (e.g., dump beds,flatbeds), based on blueprints, schematics, or customer specifications.Wiring and Electrical: Install and connect electrical wiring, andcontrol systems for lights, sensors, and auxiliary equipment. QualityControl: Inspect completed work to ensure functionality, safety, andcompliance with manufacturer standards and regulatory requirements(e.g., DOT regulations). Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolvemechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues during assembly orup-fitting processes. Documentation: Record parts used, labor time, andmodifications made for inventory and customer records. SafetyCompliance: Follow workplace safety guidelines, including proper use ofpersonal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards.Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other teammembers to execute complex builds or modifications efficiently.Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Prior experience in automotive orheavy equipment assembly, mechanics, or a related field (1-3 yearspreferred). Technical Skills: Proficiency with tools (e.g., wrenches,drills, welders) and ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, andelectrical schematics. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding ofheavy-duty vehicle systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50-75 lbs),stand for extended periods, and work in various positions (e.g.,bending, kneeling). Certifications: Welding certification, CDL(Commercial Driver\'s License), or ASE (Automotive Service Excellence)certifications are a plus but not always required.
