Production Engineer - Building Methods
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ensure all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and metInitial studies of the feasibility of the ship projects according to the shipyard technical possibilitiesCreates preliminary Building Methods' description (define optimal utilization of shipyard facilities for each ship project/potential ship project)Once contract is present, go through the ship technical conceptCreate building method for the vessel; define the production building method utilizing the existing/coming production facilities in the most cost-efficient wayCreate the Building Method Description of the vessel to be used as a guideline for the planning, design, and production workMake initiatives for further production investments at the yardFollow up the building method fulfillment and feedback from the departmentsCoordination with shipyard's design and production departments and production plannersPerform other related duties as required and assigned COMPETENCIESAble to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationDecision making/problem solvingAdaptability and organizational skills and understandingIntegrityStrategic thinkingStress managementWillingness and ability to work as a team member SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY This position has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS (Emphasis Engineering) preferred1 to 5 years' experience in Shipbuilding or other manufacturing industry preferredKnowledge/experience of project-based engineering processesKnowledge/experience of modern shipbuilding process and terminologyKnowledge/experience of productive work methods, capability to make productivity/efficiency comparisonsSoftware skills (MS Office, Planning Systems, CAD) WORK ENVIORNMENT: Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions. *Hanwha Philly Shipyard is a TOBACCO-FREE facility.
