Position: Substitute Bus MonitorJob Description:Assist challenging students being transported to and from school as well as performing related work activities in a safe and timely manner.Responsibilities:Assist in maintaining, reading and understanding route sheets including time changesExercising student management through correct use of communication and disciplineReport discipline problems through proper school district proceduresAssist in the inspection of each vehicle before and after each trip using correct procedures and completing proper district documentsMENTAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Tools/Equipment Used: Specialized and adaptive equipment used by studentsPosture: Frequent standing and sitting; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Frequent walking and reachingLifting: Frequent heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting nonambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive equipmentEnvironment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise and vehicle fumes; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases); work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts; may work irregular or prolonged hoursMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressQualifications: Minimum of 18 years of ageOther Information:Your application is not complete until three current references have been received.
