Our dedication to supplying quality products, on-time delivery, and superior support, has contributed to the success of our customers and the critical missions they serve.To continue to meet our customer’s mission critical needs, PDC is seeking an Intern-Engineering to join our respected and valued team.This position is 100% onsite in our Bohemia, NY corporate headquarters and is a temporary internship.The compensation for this role is $20-$25 hourly based on education/experience.During School Hours: 16 hours WeeklySummer Hours: 30 hours WeeklyThis position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a department of state or commercial license.We are not accepting applications from independent recruiters or agencies at this time for this role; should this change the posting will be updated to reflect submission information.Role purpose (position scope): This is an internship position for the organization’s Engineering Department. The primary role of an intern is to perform technical work within their functional area of study of Electrical Engineering, but may also include special projects that utilize basic engineering skills not solely tied to their degree program.Key Responsibilities: (May include but not limited to:) Participate in design reviewsDevelop and document technical theory of operations for design work completedDevelop plans and reports to include charts and graphs.Basic circuit design, circuit analysis, schematic capture tools and simple PCB design.Trouble shooting with common lab equipmentBasic electronics assembly and solderingPart selection and bill of material developmentDesign and write software code for products or testing.Assemble cables or prototypes.Comply and uphold Power Device SHE policies and standards.Comply with the Power Device Code of Business Conduct and EthicsOther duties as assigned by managerCore Competencies: Excellent organizational skillsMust be knowledgeable with typical computer programs such as MS Office.Must possess basic knowledge of their particular degree program.Must be able to write proficiently with emphasis on technical documentationScientific charting and graphing with MS ExcelExperience with basic test equipment (i.e. DMM, Oscilloscope) commensurate with degree programCritical thinking and be able to work independently and cooperatively.Positive attitudeLevel I – Entry (Inexperienced)KNOWLEDGE – Limited use and/or application of basic technical principles, concepts and practices.JOB COMPLEXITY – Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.DISCRETION/LATITTUDE - Work is closely supervised.
