Cronus Technology, Inc. (CTI) is a progressive company which specializes in the design and management of onshore and offshore pipeline projects. CTI provides a wide range of consulting services to support these projects, including engineering, project management, construction management, inspection, testing and pre-commissioning support.CTI is currently hiring qualified analysts with structural finite element analysis experience. Qualification is defined in the Competencies and Experience section below. Five plus (5+) years of hands-on finite element experience is required. Successful candidates will primarily plan and conduct the analysis of pipelines, conventional risers and related facilities for shallow and Deepwater subsea developments. Primary responsibilities include:· Prepare global beam/pipe finite element models to conduct pipeline/riser span analysis, lateral/upheaval pipeline buckling analysis, vibration analysis, and rigid jumper analysis, considering advanced contact subroutines to model pipe-soil-interaction and python automations;· Prepare 3D solid finite element local models to evaluate buckle arrestor forgings, weld details, and riser support stress analysis, to determine stress concentrations due to material and geometrical discontinuities· Perform code checks, including fracture and fatigue limit states to evaluate the results from structural and solid finite element analysis;· Prepare technical reports documenting analysis methodology, results and conclusions;· Perform quality assurance reviews on technical work performed by others;· Mentor other engineers/analysts in the techniques of finite element analysis;· Assist in the development of pipeline/riser design/analysis methodologies and procedures. In addition to the responsibilities listed above the candidate will be trained to perform common project design tasks to development a good understanding of project drivers and interfaces.Competencies and Experience:· A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on finite element experience using Abaqus, or a similar finite element package, to model nonlinear contact, materials and geometry;· Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously, coupled with the ability to plan and perform work in a team environment or independently;· Good written and oral communication skills in the English language is required;· Experience with other common industry software such as Matlab, Python, VBA, MathCAD, Orcaflex, Sage Profile, PRCI/AGA OBS, Solidworks is preferred;Education and Registrations:· PhD in an appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Ocean) from an ABET accredited program is required;· EIT registry is required, PE license is preferred.Cronus Technology offers competitive salaries, full scale benefits (medical, dental and vision), 401K participation, Flexible Spending Accounts, paid vacation, and the opportunity to enrich your career. Qualified candidates should submit their resume to Careers@cronustec.com with “FEA - Graduate Analyst” in the subject line.
