Part-time Upper School Mathematics Teacher

Latin School of Chicago is hiring an Upper School Math Teacher for a one-year, half-time position for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who has a passion for exploring teaching and supporting students in an outstanding academic environment.Latin School of Chicago seeks a creative and innovative Upper School Mathematics teacher who is passionate about mathematics and connecting with and supporting students. Strong candidates will be well-versed in mathematical content Algebra 1 - Calculus, and have a demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.RESPONSIBILITIES:Present on campus daily from 10:00am - 2:00pmProvide individual support to students in the Math Center from 10:15am - 1:30pm dailyThe Math Center is a drop-in resource for students seeking additional support in mathWork closely with department members, department chair to gain familiarity with content in order to be responsive to student needs across the curriculum (Algebra 1 - Calculus)Coordinate with classroom teachers and LR to identify students who may benefit from additional supportOversee Teaching Assistants (Seniors assigned to the Math Center as part of an Independent Study Project)Attend 9th grade orientation and introduce space to incoming studentsCOMPENSATION:Half-time salary ranges from $32,311 - $57,484 annually, based on education level and years of experience as outlined in our full-time Faculty Scale.Fully benefits-eligibleApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States (We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.)Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required3+ years teaching experience at the high school level preferredExperience cultivating an inclusive and supportive climate for all students, especially students from underrepresented backgrounds, and who fosters appreciation for differences in our communityCommitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.Critical thinking and reflection skills to assess and improve existing processesStrong communication skills, including spoken and written communicationCommitment to continuous improvement and professional developmentInterested candidates should include the following as part of their application:A 1 page letter of interest that articulates how past experiences align with Latin's hiring needs1-2 page resume of relevant work experiences and accomplishments
