Oracle Developer, Oracle DBA with BI Reporting
Position OverviewThe Oracle Developer / Oracle DBA will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing Oracle database solutions, PL/SQL programs, integrations, and enterprise reporting assets. The primary focus of this role is hands‑on Oracle development, including application enhancements, data processing logic, and reporting. The position also provides supporting DBA responsibilities such as performance troubleshooting, environment coordination, and collaboration with infrastructure DBA teams.The ideal candidate has deep experience with Oracle EBS or custom Oracle applications, strong SQL/PLSQL development skills, and proven ability to build and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and data models.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and complex SQL queries to support application functionality and data workflows.Build and optimize data models, database structures, and ETL processes for analytics, reporting, and operational systems.Develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and data models using tools such as BI Publisher, OBIEE, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.Develop integrations between Oracle databases and external systems using APIs, ETL tools, or custom PL/SQL logic.Conduct SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, including reviewing execution plans and optimizing long‑running queries.Troubleshoot application logic, data quality issues, and reporting discrepancies in production and non‑production environments.Provide DBA support including performance monitoring, environment coordination, schema management, and partnering with core DBA teams for patching, backups, and upgrades.Participate in code reviews, version control, release management, and documentation of technical solutions.Required Skills & Experience8+ years of hands‑on experience as an Oracle Developer with strong PL/SQL programming expertise.Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.Experience building enterprise reports and dashboards using BI Publisher, OBIEE, or other BI tools.Strong understanding of data modeling, relational database design, and ETL concepts.Experience developing integrations, data pipelines, and automated data processing routines.Familiarity with Oracle 12c/19c environments and ability to collaborate effectively with DBA teams.Ability to troubleshoot complex application and data issues across development and production environments.Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business teams.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Cloud ERP, or other enterprise applications.Knowledge of APEX, Oracle Forms/Reports, or OAF (if applicable).Familiarity with Linux/Unix and shell scripting for automation.Exposure to cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure) for database hosting or migration.Experience with data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema).Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality solutions.EducationBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
