The employee will provide impactful training in support of the United States Space Force’s (USSF) Chief of Space Operations (CSO) directed holistic, institutional C2 training program that prepares Guardians for assignments at Service, joint, and sister-service operational and tactical C2 echelons. While not as bustling as other major metropolitan areas, the region provides a relaxed pace of life with access to outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and exploring the California coastline.     Description of Position: Primary instructor and training product development expert supporting DEL 11/55 TRS C2 and joint planning training program. Team member, subject matter expert, instructor, exercise participant & planner, and advisor in the execution of C2 and joint planning training support, in addition to training of new instructional methodologies, doctrine updates/modifications, or methods of execution as they are delivered to support the USSF’s premier C2 schoolhouse.Position Responsibilities:• Plans, develops, coordinates, and instructs USSF Guardians in the execution of C2 and joint planning training events to support Combatant Command (CCMD), USSF, STARCOM, and DEL 11 objectives• Develops goals and objectives that support C2 operations training, product development, general training resource support, and training environment management• Applies instructional system design (ISD) expertise and program execution capabilities to ensure that all instructors (active duty, federal civilian, and contractor personnel) comply with legal and regulatory requirements while meeting mission needs.• Executes ISD supported squadron training & exercise program• Crafts, develops, executes, and revises unit lesson plans, student support training products, classroom materials and job aids and other documentation required to ensure quality training program execution• Implements and directs training business rules and best practices to ensure effective and efficient use of unit resources.Desired Skills/Expertise: • Mastery knowledge of Instructional Systems Design techniques and processes. DoW, USSF, STARCOM, CCMD and Component Field Command (C-FLDCOM) training instructions and operational training techniques and directives. Expert knowledge of standards and policies for joint Training, Exercise, and Wargaming systems and in-depth knowledge of DoW, Service, Agency, Command and Coalition interrelationships.• Mastery knowledge of large, complex organizations that execute component, space operations, command and control, and joint planning operations critical to combatant command operations within the homeland and abroad.• Mastery knowledge of Joint Training, Education, Exercise, Wargame, and Experimentation programmatic goals and objectives, sequencing and timing of key training events and milestones, methods of evaluating the effectiveness of joint planning and C2 operations and developing training products, materials, job aids, lesson plans and course instruction to ensure effective execution of C2 and joint planning tasks at component service staffs and C2 echelons.  • Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct the training program and mentor, motivate, and appraise unit leadership in coordination with fellow government personnel and contractor support to meet program objectives within available resources, while accomplishing work through tactful interpersonal relations and manage/resolve conflicts harmoniously to achieve stated training goals and desired results.• Expert knowledge of C2 and joint planning processes, principles, and concepts; training, evaluation, and weapons and tactics programs; and related systems, subsystems, and methodologies to include instructional systems development processes. Ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks to appraise the staff of an organization and comply with leadership direction.• Previous experience at a Combatant Command, Component Service Staff, C2 echelons and/or Service/The Joint Staff/OSD-level staff is highly desired.
