Quality Engineer

Position Summary:We are seeking a Quality Engineer with experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role is primarily focused on manual testing (80%) with some exposure to automation testing (20%). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working in Agile environments, and the ability to collaborate closely with business and technical teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Key Responsibilities:Perform manual testing activities, including test case creation, execution, defect identification, documentation, and validation of fixes.Support automation testing efforts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar frameworks.Validate insurance system functionality, including policy changes, coverage rules, endorsements, underwriting criteria, and policy lifecycle events.Test premium calculations, rate changes, and business rules to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers, Underwriting, Claims, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and validate system functionality.Conduct regression testing and support testing across multiple environments.Investigate, reproduce, and retest reported defects to assist with issue resolution.Analyze testing results and clearly communicate defects, risks, and recommendations.Validate data transformations, integrations, and system outputs using SQL.Contribute to QA process improvements, testing standards, and best practices.Maintain accurate documentation for test plans, test results, defects, and testing procedures.Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Quality Engineering.Strong experience with manual testing and regression testing.Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry experience is required.Understanding of policy lifecycle events, underwriting rules, premium calculations, and rate validation.Experience working within Agile/Scrum and SDLC environments.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with SQL for data validation and testing.Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, TestIM, or similar platforms.Experience with Azure DevOps or related Agile project management tools.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Key Skills:Manual TestingRegression TestingProperty & Casualty InsuranceSQLSeleniumPlaywrightAgile/ScrumSDLCDefect Tracking & ValidationBusiness Rule TestingTest Case DevelopmentCommunication & Stakeholder Collaboration
