Teacher Assistant II - STEAM (PK-8) (2026-2027 School Year)

To provide a well-organized smoothly functioning environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High School diploma or GEDObtain Paraprofessional CertificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to assist in instructing in STEAM related areas including outdoor education.Ability to work well with children and adultsAbility to communicate effectivelyExperience:Some experience working with childrenMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Provide instruction to students inside the facility and in the outdoor learning environments.Work with individual students or small groups.Assist in preparing and set-up of instructional materials.Help maintain neat and orderly learning environment.Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.Carries a fair share of general duties that may be assigned.Helps sick and/or injured pupils including first aid.Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation among co-workers by contributing to the team in a positive, professional manner.Supports the goals and implementation of the district's instructional programs.Punctual, accurate and dependable.Student ManagementHelp supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom.Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.OtherParticipate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.Performs other duties as the superintendent may assign.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Customer Care Skills:Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly.
