Data Analytics Engineer

Position: Data Analytics EngineerLocation: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)Contract (W2)Rate: $60/hr to $65/hrTrident Consulting is hiring a Data Analytics Engineer for one of our clients, a fast-paced technology organization focused on building scalable, data-driven solutions.We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer who enjoys working with large-scale data environments, modern data stacks, and distributed data systems. This role will involve building reliable data transformation pipelines, developing data models, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable business insights.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and optimize data transformation and analytics pipelines.Build scalable data models to support reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.Manage data ingestion, transformation, scheduling, and preparation for analytics.Work with dbt, Trino/Presto, Python, Apache Airflow, Jupyter Notebooks, and modern data platforms.Work with AWS RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other data sources.Partner with domain experts and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.Develop and automate data models and contribute to pipeline architecture.Analyze complex datasets and provide data-driven recommendations.Help improve data quality, reliability, scalability, and performance.Contribute to an open-source and collaborative engineering environment.Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Warehousing, Software Development, or Data Science.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Strong hands-on experience with dbt.Experience with Trino, Presto, or distributed SQL engines.Strong SQL and data modeling skills.Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses.Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Experience with modern BI and data visualization tools.Experience with semantic-layer technologies such as LookML, Cube, MetricsFlow, or Lightdash is highly preferred.Strong understanding of Git and modern software development practices.Preferred SkillsExperience working with large-scale or distributed data environments.Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or GitOps practices.Familiarity with open-source data technologies.Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or AWS RDS.Master's degree or advanced certification in Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.About Trident ConsultingTrident Consulting is an award-winning staffing and consulting firm headquartered in San Ramon, CA.
