About the JobThe Clearview Assistance Program Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (CAP NORC) is a program of Commonpoint NY, Inc. a multipurpose social service agency. We accomplish this mission through a broad range of social, educational, and recreational services that reach community members of all ages and backgrounds.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFunctions as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of social workers, nurses and administrative staffGreets clients and answers telephonesExplains services available to new clientsManages requests for transportation and schedules accordinglyData entry - enters units of service for group activities, transportation, and other services as assigned by the Program Director, into the NYC Aging's VIVE database in a timely mannerProvides clerical support to the team including copying, filing, mailings, and maintaining supplyinventoryCollaborates with team to develop and organize new programming, special events, trips,calendars, flyers, and program guide descriptions for activitiesFacilitates recreational and social activities as neededInterfaces with NORC Advisory Board members and takes minutes at meetingsParticipates in monthly meetings with other Program Assistants in the Older Adult Services department, as well as quarterly meetings with all department staffAttends staff development trainings, agency-wide meetings such as Town Hall with the CEO, andparticipates in other agency events.Other duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIESComputer literate, including experience utilizing Google Drive (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, Sheets, etc.); efficient use of the Internet and ability to use Zoom and Google Meets technologyPreferably 3-4 years of administrative experience in an office setting; experience in non-profit environment a plus; college degree preferred.Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to meet production deadlines.Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize daily workload independently.Demonstrated sensitivity to the aging population a plus.Must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as solid verbal and written communication skillsJOB DETAILSSchedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours; some evening or Sunday hours may be requiredOffice Location: Whitestone, QueensUnion positionSalary: $45,000 plus benefitsSend resume with cover letter to bbeckerbruno@commonpoint.org and jchampion@commonpoint.org.Only qualified candidates will be contactedCommonpoint NY, Inc. is an equal opportunity employerAbout the Company
