The Special Projects Supervisor participates in the design, development, construction, and testing of equipment for the Gateways. The Special Projects Supervisor reports directly to the Director.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesRecruit, interview, hire, and train direct reportsOversee the work and assignments of direct reportsProvide constructive and timely performance feedbackHandle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policyDuties/ResponsibilitiesManage programs and program modifications from initiation through delivery and evaluation phases.Actively lead the planning process, project stages and participants engagement throughout the implementation.Use Quality Improvement methodologies, tools, and approaches in programs and initiatives.Exercise independent judgment when developing workplans and communications.Solicit required data, statistics and reports for analysis and to facilitate effective service monitoring and performance.Act as the business unit liaison to corporate initiatives and projects.Effectively communicate project statuses using tools such as Microsoft Office, Power Point, and Visio.Provide guidance and leadership to multi-disciplinary project team to deliver high quality, cost effective, improvement-oriented results.Serve as a backup for the major Workforce Supervisor’s duties.Interface with Gateway Managers to solve problems quickly.Performs other duties as appropriate.Skills And CompetenciesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of managementExcellent organizational skills with attention-to-detailAbility to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively manage time and prioritize tasksAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityProficiency with Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with NetSuiteSelf-starter, with strong sense of ownership and assertive follow-throughInnovative, solutions-oriented professional with strong problem-solving skills Ability to motivate and lead teams to achieve objectives and service levels to the highest standardsExcellent planning and decision-making skillsEducation, Experience, And Licenses/CertificationsBachelor of Science degree ORA minimum of 5 years of experience in the Electronics industryFamiliarity with the usage of electronic test equipment and the ability to train othersRF experience a mustSoldering skills and the ability to inspect the work of othersPhysical RequirementsWillingness and ability to travel as neededWillingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as neededAbility to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)Ability to operate the equipment used for the jobAbility to lift 15 pounds at timesReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this jobMarginal FunctionsA review of this job description may have omitted some of the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of the job duties and responsibilities.
