Plant Manager – Aerospace ManufacturingLocation: Monticello, IndianaEmployment Type: Direct HireCompensation: $165,000 – $185,000 + performance bonusAbout the OpportunityA leading manufacturer specializing in industrial powertrain solutions, bearings, and sealing components is seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations at a growing aerospace-focused facility. This site supports critical applications including aircraft engines, gearboxes, flight control systems, and landing gear components. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, cultural alignment, and continuous improvement in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.Position OverviewThe Plant Manager will oversee all site operations, leading a team of approximately 200 employees across multiple departments including production, quality, engineering, supply chain, HR, and EHS. This individual will be accountable for full P&L performance, operational excellence, and maintaining compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.This role requires a balance of hands-on leadership and strategic vision, with a strong emphasis on improving performance metrics while preserving a collaborative, team-oriented culture.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all plant operations including manufacturing, quality, safety, and supply chainOwn and manage the full P&L, including cost control, forecasting, and financial performanceDrive improvements in production output, efficiency, and waste reductionEnsure achievement of KPIs including throughput, scrap rates, and on-time deliveryImplement and sustain Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesDevelop and mentor leadership staff across all departmentsMaintain compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirementsChampion a proactive safety culture and lead safety improvement initiativesOptimize value stream flow, production planning, and manufacturing processesCollaborate with executive leadership to establish and execute strategic goalsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)3–5+ years of leadership experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturingProven experience managing plant-level P&L (minimum $30M scope)Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, cost drivers, and financial impactExperience with ERP/MRP systems and just-in-time manufacturingBackground in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesDemonstrated success in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiativesLeadership & Culture FitStrong, people-first leadership style with the ability to build trust and accountabilityComfortable working in a close-knit, team-oriented environmentAble to drive performance improvements while maintaining a positive and respectful cultureResults-driven with a focus on execution, ownership, and accountabilityWork Environment & ScheduleMulti-shift manufacturing environment (3 shifts)Standard hours: Monday–Friday, with flexibility for extended hours and weekends as neededBenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with employer matchPaid time off, personal days, and holidaysTuition assistance and professional development supportLife and disability insurance
