OR Complete a physical and TB risk assessment (Applicant's Expense)Complete a Federal/State criminal background check (Applicant's expense)Complete a Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check (Applicant's expense)This posting is for the 2025-26 school year only.If you previously applied for a substitute position in a previous school year and were not hired, it will be necessary to reapply using this posting.***CURRENT (ACTIVE) SUBSTITUTES OF THE DISTRICT DO NOT NEED TO REAPPLY***Performance ResponsibilitiesTutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacherPerform routine clerical duties such as preparation of instructional and classroom materials; operate copy machines; maintain classroom records; maintain attendance recordsProvide support to the teacher by setting up work areas, displays and exhibits, operating audio-visual equipment, operating educational training equipment and distributing and collecting paper and suppliesImplement strategies and procedures developed by teachers to maintain safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environmentsImplement strategies that promote the student's independence across all relevant educational settingsRead to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with studentsHelp student's master instructional content assigned by teacherAssist with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines, as appropriateAssist with wash-up and toilet routines, as appropriateHelp students with organization and management of materialsOperate and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposesAssure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and regulationsAssist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, structured activity time, and field tripsHiring ProcessComplete the Classified Substitute online application and upload any transcriptsThe substitute screening committee reviews all applications and invites qualified candidates to an interviewCandidates selected after the initial screening process and the interview process will be invited to a new hire orientationUpon completion of new hire paperwork, FBI/State background check, Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check, physical/TB assessment, Job Placement Assessment (JPA) and attending a new hire orientation, substitutes may start substitute duties in the District
