Cloud Application Developer
Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Application Developer to support the modernization and enhancement of large-scale transactional systems within anenterprise environment. This role will focus on developing highly reliable, event-driven microservices, supporting cloud migration initiatives, and contributing to the modernization of legacy applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience with transactional systems, Java development, AWS technologies, and distributed architectures.This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices supporting large-scale transactional systemsParticipate in modernization initiatives, including the migration of legacy applications to cloud-based architecturesDevelop and maintain Java-based applications leveraging AWS services and event-driven technologiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and implement technical solutionsSupport the migration of legacy platforms and applications while ensuring system reliability and performanceTroubleshoot complex production issues and implement sustainable solutions in high-availability environmentsContribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisionsMonitor application performance and recommend enhancements to improve scalability and operational efficiencyRequired Skills7+ years of software development experienceStrong proficiency in Java developmentStrong experience with AWS cloud servicesExperience designing and supporting transactional systems and transactional microservicesHands-on experience with Apache KafkaExperience with Amazon SQSExperience with AWS EventBridgePreferred SkillsExperience supporting large-scale customer-facing platformsExperience with event-driven architecture patternsExperience working within outage management, telecommunications, utility, or other mission-critical operational systemsKnowledge of application modernization strategies and cloud transformation initiativesWork EnvironmentLocation: St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC; or Coppell, TXHybrid schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remoteInterview process includes a technical interview and live coding assessmentCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $101,500.00 and $145,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
