Job Title: Certified Medical AssistantLocation: Altamonte Springs, FL 32714Duration: 2 months contract with possible extensionsShift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and clinical staff by delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring efficient office operations while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Support Assist physicians with examinations, minor surgical procedures, and treatments.Administer medications, immunizations, EKGs, and perform ear washes as directed.Perform venipuncture and handle specimen collection, preparation, and documentation.Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care as instructed by the physician.Prepare patients for examination and ensure a comfortable, professional experience.Laboratory & Equipment Management Perform laboratory duties including drawing blood, spinning and prepping specimens, and maintaining logs.Monitor laboratory compliance with OSHA standards.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels in exam rooms and laboratory areas.Sterilize instruments and ensure proper infection control practices.Administrative & Front Office Duties Greet and room patients courteously and professionally.Answer telephone calls, triage patient concerns, and respond to inquiries.Schedule appointments and follow-ups based on physician instructions.Maintain accurate patient medical records and ensure proper documentation.Enter patient data, test requisitions, and encounters into the system.Customer Service & Compliance Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.Represent the organization professionally and adhere to company policies.Additional Responsibilities Act as liaison between laboratory services and the medical center.Assist with maintaining medical equipment.Perform additional duties as assigned.Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ability to obtain certification within 180 days of employment.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR/AED certification , or ability to obtain within 30 days.Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in a primary care setting.Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding .Required Skills & Competencies Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy and EKG administration .Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care practices .Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care within scope.Excellent documentation and reporting skills .Proficiency in computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR) .Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills.Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards .Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.Additional Information Travel: Not requiredWork Environment: Clinical setting (not home-based)Dress Code: Solid color scrubs (Navy, Black, Blue, Grey, or Teal)Interview Process: In-person
