Intelligence Standards and Training (IST) Specialist
SMX is seeking a highly motivated Intelligence Standards and Training (IST) Specialist to help design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge intelligence training and standards programs for a dynamic special operations community. You will serve as a trusted advisor in the development of training curricula, assessment methodologies, and best practices, ensuring intelligence personnel remain at the forefront of operational readiness and tradecraft excellence.This position requires a TS/SCI Security Clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.Application Deadline: April 30, 2026ResponsibilitiesDevelop, coordinate, and deliver intelligence training programs tailored to operational and analytical mission requirementsAssess current intelligence standards and identify opportunities for process, policy, and curriculum improvementsConduct needs assessments and on-site evaluations to ensure compliance with evolving mission requirements and industry best practicesProvide mentorship and subject matter expertise to both new and experienced intelligence personnelAuthor and update training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and course documentationLiaise with operational units and leadership to gather input, integrate lessons learned, and validate training effectivenessImplement innovative training techniques and leverage emerging technologies to enhance training delivery and knowledge retentionSupport the development of certification programs, readiness exercises, and intelligence qualification standardsMaintain awareness of current and emerging threats and ensure intelligence training reflects the latest operational environmentRequired QualificationsActive TS/SCI clearanceBachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in intelligence, education, national security, or a related field6+ years of experience in military or national security intelligence operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a training, standards, or supervisory roleIn-depth knowledge of intelligence analysis processes, tradecraft, and best practicesExperience developing and delivering training to intelligence professionals, both in-person and virtuallyExceptional communication, presentation, and technical writing skillsProven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environmentWillingness to travel or deploy to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required by mission demandsPreferred Qualifications* Experience with learning management systems, training technologies, or instructional design methodologies* Professional military/civilian instructor certification highly desirable#CJPOST #LI-DD1The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
