This position operates within an outpatient Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting, where the psychiatrist will collaborate closely with providers and care teams, working with patients from diverse backgrounds and varying needs.Supervisory Responsibilities: None/possibly preceptorship/supervision of other roles.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesPossess comprehensive behavioral health skills to include, but not limited to mental health assessments; screenings and triage; pharmacological management; therapy/crisis intervention; organization and facilitation of psychoeducational and support groups; short-term case management; documentation; and referralsPerform appropriate diagnostic and clinical assessments in evaluating patient behavioral health and medical care concernsIdentify, prioritize, and manage complex behavioral health and co-occurring problemsDevelop treatment plan in collaboration with the patient while monitoring their progressWork as part of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with doctors, clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, case workers, education professionals, etc.Communicate and collaborate professionally and effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, service agencies, etc.Obtain the knowledge and technical skills to serve diverse populations (i.e. HIV/AIDS patients, Alzheimer's, LGBTQ, etc.) along with cultural sensitivitiesAct as a resource as well as utilize community resources to connect patients with social, economic, and medical access to specialized comprehensive resourcesOffers services using various modalities, including in-person, telehealth, telephone, video, etc. that are clinically appropriate and meet the patients' needsComplete all documentation required by DAP Health and the patient's insurance in a timely mannerProtect patient privacy following HIPAA standardsProvide supervision of other behavioral health providers as assignedAttend and participate in scheduled meetingsPerform additional job-related duties and responsibilities as requestedQualificationsRequired Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge and basic skills in behavioral health and medical practices and methodsAwareness and sensitivity to diverse multicultural communitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skillsEducation and ExperienceCurrent active and unrestricted State of California M.D. LicenseMaintains California state licensure requirements regarding continuing educationBoard Certified in PsychiatryCurrent valid Federal Controlled Substance Registration CertificateCurrent BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossWorking with underserved populations preferredWorking in FQHC preferredWorking with children, adolescents, and adults preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsThis position is on-site at a DAP Health clinic with the option for hybridOperates in an office/clinical setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion, and talkingRequires current and valid driver's license and current personal auto insuranceAble to travel to DAP Health locations throughout San Diego and Riverside for in person patient care and meetingsAbility to lift 24 pounds
