Optometrist

Overview We are seeking a friendly and skilled Optometrist to join our family practice for two Saturdays per month, with the potential for additional days. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be committed to providing exceptional eye care services. This role involves examining, diagnosing, and treating visual problems, as well as managing overall patient health related to ocular conditions. We are located in a retail setting at Target Optical in San Clemente Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect ocular diseases (exams are scheduled every 30 minutes) Provide contact lens fittings and follow ups, be proficient RGP, multifocal etc Provide education to patients regarding eye health, treatment options, and preventative care. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Revolution) and EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to guide treatment decisions. Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies. Ensure a welcoming environment for patients by delivering excellent customer service. Required to work an 8 hour shift 9am-5pm with 1 hour lunch. Requirements Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Valid state license to practice optometry. Professional Liability Insurance Familiarity with optical equipment and techniques (Optomap and Automated Phoropter) Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for efficient record management Revolution, if not we can complete training.
