Material Planner

Job overview:We are seeking an experienced Material Planner to manage inventory planning and ensure the timely availability of components to support production and customer demand. This role is responsible for forecasting material needs, coordinating with suppliers (both domestic and overseas), and maintaining optimal inventory levels in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Job details: Full-time, on-site, $25-26/hour.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.7+ years of high volume Material Planning experience required.Experience as Buyer preferred.MRP based planning experience preferred.Logistics industry experience preferred.Experience in Kanban/pull systems preferred.Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong problem solving, decision making and organization skills.Basic computer skills (MS Office, e-mail, web browsing, etc.).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plans/forecasts future inventory levels based on sales forecast, current inventory levels, and outstanding purchase/work ordersEnsure components are available and communicate demand changes to the supply baseCommunicate material requirements to assigned suppliers, primarily overseas.Ensure adherence to supply schedulesWork with domestic and off-shore production work cells to prioritize material flowWork with freight providers to prioritize and schedule inbound freightMonitors variations in forecasts, and performs corrective actions as needed.Establishes appropriate inventory levels and determines reorder points.
