Warehouse Lead
Brief DescriptionThe Warehouse Lead will perform all duties necessary to receive and ship products according to company policy and procedures, as well as customer deliveries, as needed. Schedule and assign work, oversee warehouse and training of all employees. Responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving to include warehouse inventory and maintain accuracy in systems. This position requires broad experience handling all aspects of the distribution functions.RequirementsManage and direct the daily activities of shipping & receiving personnel within a 60,000 square feet multi-functional distribution centerMeasure and address the effectiveness of employee performance and warehousing activitiesResponsible for TL, LTL, and small parcel shipping, with strong emphasis on transportation cost savings and on-time deliveryEnsure and maintain employees’ safety and environmental concernsOversee and perform cycle counting; ensure the accuracy of the inventory for the organizationImprove warehouse work processes through planning to create a more efficient fulfillment systemPlan, coordinate, and schedule activities with various departments to meet production schedules and ship datesUtilize daily opportunities to train and instruct along with more formal training as requiredFocus on workflow while balancing many factors including production time, labor requirement, course of action, product quality optimization, removing obstacles, using technology, ERP system, all other tools and resourcesCommunicate with necessary personnel to satisfy customer requirements, report defective or substandard material supplies or productsMaintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; follow all Safety GuidelinesMonitor and enforce adherence to company principles, policies, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with Company Quality Assurance StandardsAssure all material handling equipment is utilized in accordance with company policy and procedureProvide recommendations to supervisor for personnel related issues, i.e. hiring, disciplinary actions, employee relationsOther duties as assignedEducationA high school diploma or GED preferred, trade school or military experience a plusExperience & Skills Experience in a warehouse/logistics environment required Material handling experience preferred Familiarity with Amazon, Grainger, and Fastenal shipping functions a plus Experience in conflict resolution, direct labor utilization, budgeting, maintaining equipment, maintenance schedules of mission critical equipment Ability to identify bottlenecks and determine effective solutions Ability to identify cost savings strategies and implement promptly and effectively Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Requires solid written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verifySummaryAt Mazzella, we're more than just a company – we're a family.
