SummaryCorrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.DutiesHelpMaintains the physical security of the institution through installation, maintenance and repairs of an array of electronic systems inclusive, but not limited to, PBX telephone switch, trunked radio systems, fire alarm systems, perimeter detection systems, programmable logic controllers and CCTV/DVR systems. These systems are critical to the physical security of the institution in preserving the safety and well- being of staff and the inmate populace.Maintains, develops modifications, and ensures the reliability of the institution's electronic security and communication systems.Provides technical support during the preparation of drawings and specifications for electronic and telecommunication equipment as required by B&F Projects, Work Orders, etc.Conducts inspections and performs preventive maintenance as required by policy.Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled.Some examples of this qualifying experience are:Experience as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic (civilian or military) that showed progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory, and of the characteristics, function, operation, and capabilities of a variety of types of electronic equipment.Experience in the use of schematic diagrams, a variety of test equipment, and the application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing, and instructing on electronic equipment, or similar functions.Experience maintaining custom electronic equipment which is continually being modified and adapted, i.e. calibrating, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining electronic equipment.Experience in developing policies, standards, and procedures for maintenance, installation, or similar functions, provided the work clearly shows that the applicant applied a specialized knowledge of the theories and principles of a variety of electronic systems or equipment.If applicable, credit will be given paid and unpaid experience.
