Job DescriptionLead engineering and design activities for 765kV overhead transmission line projects from conceptual development through detailed design and construction support.Prepare and review:Transmission line routing studiesStructure spotting and profilingPLS-CADD modelsSag and tension calculationsStructure loading treesFoundation loading criteriaConductor and shield wire selectionDevelop engineering packages including:Plan and profile drawingsStructure assembly drawingsStringing chartsBill of materialsConstruction specificationsCoordinate with civil, geotechnical, environmental, survey, permitting, and substation engineering teams.Ensure compliance with:NESCIEEE standardsUtility design standardsApplicable state and federal regulationsPerform design reviews and quality checks on internal and subcontractor deliverables.Support procurement activities including technical evaluations and vendor coordination.Provide technical support during construction, field inspections, outage planning, and commissioning activities.Participate in client meetings, project planning, and technical presentations.Mentor junior engineers and designers. The Successful Applicant A successful Transmission Line Engineer - 765kV should have:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.Minimum 5-10 years of transmission line engineering experience.Demonstrated experience with 345kV-765kV transmission line projects.Proficiency with:PLS-CADDPLS-POLEPLS-TOWERAutoCAD or MicroStationStrong understanding of:Transmission line structural designSag/tension analysisLine routing and constructabilityFoundation loadingGrounding and shielding principlesFamiliarity with NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and utility standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
