You'll own critical systems including Firebase integration, caching strategies, ensure efficient database interactions, and maintain scalable and secure server-side applications. Additionally, the position involves adhering to best practices in backend development and contributing to a dynamic, extremely fast-paced development environment. This is a high-impact role where your work directly enables all product features and powers the player experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain scalable backend systems and core architecture patterns used across the entire platformImplement efficient caching strategies to optimize database performance and costsBuild and maintain core data modelsDevelop service layer APIs for seamless integrationCollaborate with frontend, gameplay, and product teams on system requirements and architecture decisionsRequired Qualifications5+ years professional experience with game backend systems or application architectureExpert experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and Firebase (Firestore, Functions, Auth, Realtime Database)Expert level typescript proficiencyStrong understanding of caching patterns, performance optimization, and profilingExperience with service-oriented architecture and data modelingExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsGame industry or mobile application backend development experienceExpert-level C# proficiency with async/await patterns and concurrent programmingPerformance optimization and benchmarking expertiseExperience utilizing AI developent toolsExperience building real-time or multiplayer systemsLocationFully remote Will need to work synchronously with the team during NA business hours CompensationGriple is an early stage startup and your comp can include equity, cash, or both.
