Job DescriptionUW Medical Center-Northwest - Special Care Unit (SCU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse.WORK SCHEDULEPer diem schedule / variable hours per weekMust be available to work 12 hour shiftsMust have flexibility to work both day shifts (7:00am-7:30pm) and night shifts (7:00pm-7:30am)Must be available to work at least 4 shifts each 4-week periodAbout Our Special Care UnitWe are a stepdown, progressive care floor with telemetry servicesWe offer 17 individual rooms for patientsWe consistently hold 1:3 and 1:4 nurse to patient ratiosWe pride ourselves on delivering dedicated intermediary care to patients who have been discharged from our ICU and our procedural unitsPOSITION HIGHLIGHTSJoin a close-knit team that values camaraderie and collaborationWork a flexible schedule in a position offering work-life balancePrimary Job ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care to a critically ill patient population, including patients experiencing cardiac abnormalities, vascular illness, and diabetic ketoacidosisWork alongside physicians and care managersAssess heart and lung conditions using telemetry equipmentAdminister IV medications, including heparin dripsAdminister vasoactive medicationsEducate patients and their families on ongoing care plansRequirementsBLSACLSActive licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State1 year of recent hospital nursing experience in progressive careAbout Uw Medical Center-northwestUW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
