OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: Mechanical Engineers design and detail custom TEKFAB equipment, performing calculations as required. They also serve as Project Managers, communicating directly with customers while both monitoring and reporting on the production of TEKFAB equipment, which includes procurement, fabrication, machining, assembly, testing, and installation. The successful Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager has a proven track record of engineering and management in a heavy equipment industry, with a willingness to learn new skills and be part of a great team. We value hard work, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. key areas of responsibility: · Design: Work with subject matter experts to design custom equipment. · Detailing: Draft drawings for all custom parts, weldments, and assemblies. · Management: Coordinate among production teams (internal and external) for timely delivery. · Purchasing: Develop Bills of Materials and support Purchasing with vendor questions. · Scheduling: Maintain and monitor a Project Schedule for accurate projection and reporting. · Communication: Integrate all customer and Sales specifications into custom equipment. · Quality Control: Monitor and review work produced by interns and supporting team members. · Other: Work as directed by President, Chief Operations Officer, and Engineering Manager. Preferred SKILLS AND TRAITS: · Mechanical Engineering degree, or other combined with experience. · 2 years’ experience designing and drafting using SolidWorks CAD. · 2 years’ experience managing projects totaling at least $1M/year. · 5 – 10 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. · Must live within a 50-mile radius of Albany, Oregon. · Experience designing and detailing custom machinery. · Experience working with electrical and control systems. · Technical expertise in rollforming industrial equipment. · Experience designing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. · Experience in machining, fabrication, and assembly.
