Manager, Supply Chain

Primary ResponsibilitiesPurchasing and Scheduling LeadershipOversee daily activities of buyers and schedulers to ensure efficient operations, cost control, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.Guide scheduling efforts to develop and maintain production plans based on customer demand, inventory targets, and available resources.Direct purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components, equipment, and services.Evaluate supplier performance related to quality and delivery, implementing corrective actions as needed.Ensure adherence to company safety, quality, and ISO standards.Identify and implement process improvements through simplification, technology, and lean practices.Strategic Sourcing and ProcurementBuild and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers.Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize costs, manage inventory effectively, and enhance value.Support new product development by ensuring timely sourcing of prototypes and production materials.Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.Monitor market trends and commodity pricing to inform sourcing strategies.Inventory ManagementEstablish controls and procedures to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet financial targets and improve working capital performance.Collaborate with suppliers on programs such as consignment and vendor-managed inventory to optimize stock levels.Oversee scrap metal program.Team and Department ManagementRecruit, train, and develop supply chain team members to achieve annual objectives.Manage team performance and foster a high-performing, accountable culture.Establish individual and team goals aligned with organizational objectives.Develop and maintain policies and procedures for purchasing and scheduling in alignment with ISO requirements.Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. Qualifications:Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field; or equivalent experience required.Industry certifications, including CSCP, CPIM, or CLTD strongly preferred.Minimum of 5 years of progressive supply chain, purchasing, scheduling, or operations experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience managing global supplier relationships and international sourcing preferred.Proven ability to operate effectively in cross-functional environments.Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards preferred.Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) required.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, procurement, production scheduling, inventory control, and logistics.Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to interpret data and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.Strong collaboration and time-management skills.Core CompetenciesTeam Leadership and DevelopmentPerformance ManagementCross-Functional CollaborationCustomer FocusOrganizational CompetenciesContinuous ImprovementTalent DevelopmentCost Control and Working Capital ManagementWork EnvironmentPrimarily office-based with a mix of sitting, standing, and computer workOccasional travel (up to 10%)Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
