Metal Casting Specialist

About the Role As a Metal Casting Specialist, you will play a critical role in the production of high-performance components by mastering the babbitting process. You will ensure the integrity of rotating equipment by applying molten metals with precision, directly impacting the reliability and operational efficiency of our clients' machinery. Responsibilities Execute precise static and spin casting techniques to apply babbitt to industrial bearings. Prepare components for processing through thorough cleaning, disassembly, and grit blasting. Operate and monitor industrial furnaces and melting pots to maintain optimal material consistency. Utilize TIG welding and acetylene torches to perform necessary fabrication and repair work. Interpret complex technical drawings, routings, and process sheets to ensure manufacturing accuracy. Safely maneuver heavy parts using overhead cranes and material handling equipment. Maintain a high-standard foundry environment by adhering to strict safety and quality protocols. Qualifications Required Skills Proven experience working within a foundry or metal casting environment. Proficiency in operating casting room machinery and specialized hand tools. Solid understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metal properties. Ability to read and follow detailed engineering blueprints and process documentation. Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Preferred Skills Certification or documented experience in TIG welding and metal fabrication. Prior experience with fluid film bearing maintenance and repair. Operational knowledge of hot chamber die casting equipment. Experience with forklift operation and heavy material handling.
