DescriptionBishop McNamara High School is a co-ed independent, Catholic day school founded in 1964 by the Brothers of the Holy Cross. The school is located minutes from Washington, DC, serves 890 students, and seeks a Business Office Associate reporting to the Director of Finance.The Business Office Associate supports the daily operations of the business office, with primary responsibilities in accounts payable and payroll. The Business office associate ensures financial integrity, operational excellence, and alignment with the school’s mission.RequirementsAccounts Payable: Ensures timely review and payment of invoicesReview and process invoices in a timely mannerMaintain the accounts payable (A/P) platformSet up and manage new vendor accountsEnter approved invoices into payment batchesEnsure all payment requests are properly addressed and documentedReconcile vendor accounts and the general ledgerPayrollCollaborate with the HR department to process semi-monthly payrollUnderstand payroll processes and navigate payroll systems effectively, preferably PaylocityProcess and manage tax documents, including W-2s, W-9s, 1099s, and 941sMaintain strict confidentiality of employee informationBudget SupportApply general accounting principles in practice such as understanding chart of accounts and journal entriesDistribute budget vs. actual reports to budget ownersMonitor expenses and ensure receipts are properly uploaded and documentedCustomer ServiceProvide courteous service to students, parents, vendors and staff.Provide cross functional support within the business office.Address concerns promptly with professionalism and grace.QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable and/or Payroll processingGreat organizational and time-management skillsAbility to organize and analyze financial dataAbility to make accurate computationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyAttention to detail and accuracyAdaptability and flexibility in a dynamic school environmentA bachelors or higher educationProficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft OfficeWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
