Through both push-in and pull-out models, this role develops students' higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.The Advanced Learning Specialist is responsible for identifying students using multiple data points and established criteria, and for planning and delivering enrichment instruction aligned to state standards and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).In addition to direct student services, this role collaborates with classroom teachers to support differentiation in mathematics and literacy instruction. This includes providing instructional strategies, resources, and coaching to ensure advanced learners are appropriately challenged within the core classroom.The Advanced Learning Specialist works closely with grade-level teams to integrate enrichment into inquiry-based, transdisciplinary units and uses student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and evaluate program effectiveness.Salary Range: $41,000-$56,000Key Responsibilities:Student Instruction & EnrichmentDesign and deliver advanced, differentiated instruction in mathematics and literacyProvide push-in and pull-out enrichment services for identified studentsDevelop students' higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skillsPlan and implement lessons that emphasize depth, complexity, and conceptual understandingStudent Identification & Progress MonitoringIdentify students for advanced learning services using multiple data sources and established criteriaMonitor student progress and adjust instruction based on performance dataMaintain records and communicate student growth with stakeholdersTeacher Support & Instructional CoachingCollaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiation in math and literacy instructionProvide strategies, resources, and coaching to extend learning for advanced studentsSupport Tier 1 instruction to ensure appropriate challenge for all learnersCurriculum & CollaborationPartner with grade-level teams to integrate enrichment into inquiry-based, transdisciplinary units (PYP)Align enrichment instruction with Minnesota state standards and school curriculumContribute to curriculum development and refinement of scope and sequenceProgram DevelopmentSupport the development and continuous improvement of the school's advanced learning programUse data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform instructional decisionsQualifications:RequiredValid Minnesota teaching license (Elementary Education or related field)Experience teaching elementary students (K 5)Strong knowledge of math and literacy instructionDemonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needsPreferredExperience working with gifted and talented or advanced learnersKnowledge of IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or inquiry-based instructionExperience with instructional coaching or teacher leadershipStrong data analysis skills to inform instruction
