NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service (FWS). These experienced professionals provide administrative,
scientific, technical, and operational support to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is
temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is
an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate
enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the
Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.
PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW
Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through
a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications
HS/GED Degree with minimum additional experience of 25 year(s) in heavy
equipment operations, hauling & maintenance mechanic trades.
Current at time of hire- FWS equipment certifications for dozer, ag tractor,
skid steer, track hoe, back hoe, pickup truck, commercial vehicle (semi-tractor
trailer) and ORUV.
Experience required with Windows, MS Word

Duties
Project?s primary purpose is to conduct habitat improvement & restoration
projects for the benefit of migratory waterfowl through the operation & hauling
of heavy equipment; to maintain heavy equipment and implements; and to
improve/repair refuge infrastructure & assets.
Operate heavy equipment / implements for habitat improvement 50%
Improve & repair Refuge infrastructure and assets 30%
Service & repair heavy equipment / implements 15%
Operate semi-tractor trailer to haul equipment 5%
Other
Maintain FWS heavy equipment, vehicle & ORUV certifications and CDL
requirements.
Required Certifications: Current & valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License
Government Vehicle Training: as needed, with oversight by monitor.
Health and Safety Considerations: Prior to start of work, enrollee will
provide copies of current training certificates pertaining to Section III and
will review station?s applicable Job Hazard Analysis? forms.
Required Safety Gear: PPE to include hard hat, leather gloves, safety toe
boots, safety eye wear, hearing protection, etc as needed for the job at hand.
Safety Gear Use: while in the field
Physical requirements: Must maintain physical requirements per Class A
Commercial Driver?s License requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made
