Chiller Mechanic

Service Technician – Heavy Commercial ChillerLocation: Corpus Christi, TXPay: Competitive pay based on experience.Type: Full time permanent employmentKey Responsibilities:Diagnose, repair, and maintain advanced commercial chiller systems and chilled water plantsPerform testing, troubleshooting, disassembly, reassembly, and planned maintenance on large commercial equipmentCoordinate work activities on large service projects and complex system repairsComplete service contracts, quoted work, and demand service calls as assignedServe as a lead technician, providing technical guidance and support to other service personnelCoordinate subcontractors and assist with workflow planning when requiredCommunicate clearly with customers, explain work performed, and build long-term client relationshipsDocument service activity and communicate project status to internal stakeholdersPurchase materials and issue purchase orders as neededMaintain tools, equipment, and inventory on assigned service vehicleOperate company vehicles safely and comply with all safety and fleet policiesUtilize mobile and application-based service softwareExperience & Education:7+ years of commercial chiller service experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredTwo-year technical degree in a related field preferredRequired licenses, registrations, and certifications applicable to the positionRequired Technical Expertise:OEM experience and/or factory chiller trainingAdvanced troubleshooting of chiller control panelsStrong background in centrifugal chiller overhaulsExtensive knowledge of chilled water systems, including:DX and air-cooled chillersScroll, reciprocating, screw, centrifugal, and magnetic bearing compressorsStrong understanding of airside and waterside system controlsExperience with chilled water plant components, including pumps, VFDs, and cooling towersAbility to monitor, log, and interpret equipment readings to prevent system outagesAdvanced working knowledge of building automation systems and OEM software tools (e.g., TechView, Service Checker, MTool)Proficient in reading complex schematics and blueprintsSkills & AttributesStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, and multitasking abilitiesSelf-directed and able to work independentlyProfessional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer service with a focus on exceeding expectationsHigh ethical standards and professionalism at all timesWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements:Work performed indoors, outdoors, and on construction sitesExposure to extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and vibrationAbility to qualify for respiratory protection and follow all safety requirementsLift up to 20 lbs routinely, 50 lbs frequently, and 80 lbs occasionallyAbility to climb ladders and scaffolding, work at heights, kneel, crawl, and perform repetitive physical tasksAbility to safely navigate construction site hazardsJOB BENEFITS:Year-round work stabilityPTO (paid time off)/holidaysCompetitive pay - negotiable based on experienceHealth insurance, including dental and vision401K Retirement ProgramCompany Vehicle and PhoneCheck out our video for more information:Build The Future with ProTech, a Crete United CompanyEqual Opportunity EmployerPro Tech Mechanical and Crete United are committed to inclusive hiring and encourage applications from all backgrounds—including race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and veteran status.Equal Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
