Youth Coach

As an agency that works with a vulnerable demographic of individuals, we require extensive pre-employment background checks that aide in fulfilling our mission to protect our clients, keeping them safe from abuse and harm, by hiring quality and trustworthy staff.
Job requirements: To be successful in this role, you need to have the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is preferred.
Must be at least 21 years of age
A valid driver's license and insurance.
Ability to travel between appointments in order to service clients within their community
Knowledgeable regarding social service systems within the state
Clear, effective communication skills
Knowledge of and adherence to current confidentiality practices
Appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences
Ability to develop and maintain relevant networks of key contacts
Adept prioritization and time management abilities
Base pay is dependent on education and experience. This position is paid hourly, up to 40 hours per week.
Youth Coaches provide services to homeless & at-risk youth on a routine basis to assist them in obtaining their goals. This position will require that you provide guidance, encouragement, and support without bias focusing on a strengths based, trauma informed care approach. A successful candidate will develop a network of relationships with agencies in the community, work with other social welfare agencies and refer the youth to those appropriate agencies.

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Completion of all required documentation
Maintains all applicable credentials required for the role
Onsite in schools; during school calendar year and hours may vary by school
Onsite at center for weekly staff meeting during school calendar year
Hours not to exceed 40 hrs without Executive Director approval
Attends community events as needed
Additional hours and duties may be required and are at the discretion of the Executive Director
Candidate must be:
- Knowledgeable about what resources/help is available
- Welcoming/personable to students
- Perceptive and caring
- Experience in dealing with students in difficult situation
- Trauma informed practice
