This role is responsible for ensuring our books are accurate, our cash position is well managed, and our leadership team has clear, reliable financial information to guide decisions. Because we operate within hospitality and event production, understanding the pace, seasonality, and cash flow dynamics of the industry is essential. The right candidate is someone who enjoys being deep in the numbers while also understanding how those numbers support the real work happening across our teams and brands.This role reports directly to ownership and works closely with the full director team across all five brands.Accounting and Book Close:Own the full-cycle monthly close across all five LUX entities in QuickBooks OnlinePerform all primary staff accountant functions including depreciation entries, payroll allocations, and reclassificationsPrepare and process payroll files on a bi-weekly basis and ensure accurate allocation across brandsPrepare and file sales tax returns and remit payments on a monthly basisPrepare annual 1099 trial reports and coordinate Form 5500 (401k compliance) filingLiaise with the external tax firm and auditors to ensure compliance and accuracyCash and Banking:Own and maintain the 13-week rolling cash forecast, updated weeklyManage lender and banking relationships for any capital needs, growth financing, or credit facility activityMonitor daily cash position across entities and flag risk to ownership proactivelyBudgeting and Reporting:Own and roll out the full-cycle annual budget across all five entitiesCollaborate with each director to set performance metrics and ensure they understand the financial targets tied to their brandPrepare and distribute weekly departmental dashboards to the director core and ownershipDeliver monthly BvA (Budget vs. Actual) reports by brand and assist directors in understanding and managing their numbersCalculate and process employee commissions monthly and manager and director bonuses on semi-annual and annual cyclesPrepare and present prior year financials as reference documents for ownership and external partiesDirector Support and Ad Hoc:Work closely with the director team to help them understand the unit economics of their departmentPrepare RFP pro formas and financial models for new business opportunities as neededSupport ownership on salary changes, compensation offers, and related financial analysisBuild and maintain slide deck summaries for director and ownership reviewProvide financial analysis on capital investments and growth decisionsJob Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA strongly preferredMinimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience with direct responsibility for closing books in a multi-entity or multi-brand environmentDemonstrated experience performing staff accountant functions: depreciation, payroll entries, reconciliations, and month-end close without delegating core executionAdvanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online required; experience reconciling and maintaining a complex QBO instance preferredStrong working knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity financial reportingExperience building and managing budgets, variance analysis, and cash forecastingHighly organized with a bias toward accuracy over speed; this role requires someone who gets the close right, not just fastComfortable interfacing with ownership, directors, lenders, and external accountantsProficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for dashboards and financial modelsAdditional Information:The LUX Group is a fast-moving, multi-brand operation.
