Job Description Packaging Clerk FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-ExemptDEPARTMENT: OperationsREPORTS TO: Production SupervisorPAY RANGE: $15.69 - $16.16 per hour  Position Summary The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) is an engineering and custom cable manufacturing company. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, FEC is AS9100D and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified and provides custom cable design and assembly to defense and aerospace customers. Our major customers include leading defense contractors such as Raytheon, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, and The United States Government.Minimum Qualifications:EducationHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not requiredExperienceNo prior experience requiredPrevious warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing experience is a plus but not necessaryKnowledgeBasic understanding of workplace safety and packaging proceduresWillingness to learn company packaging and shipping processesSkillsAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAttention to detail when packaging and labeling productsAbility to work efficiently in a team environmentAbility to accurately count and verify itemsStrong work ethic and reliabilityJob ResponsibilitiesPackage finished products according to company packaging standardsPlace products into appropriate boxes, containersLabel and prepare packages for shipmentAssemble boxes, packaging materials, and shipping containers as neededCount and verify items before packaging to ensure order accuracyOrganize and stage completed packages for shipmentMaintain a clean and organized packaging work areaReplenish packaging materials such as boxes, tape, labels, and protective materialsAssist production teams by packaging completed jobs as neededFollow company safety procedures and packaging guidelinesReport damaged or missing items to a supervisorAssist with general warehouse or production tasks when requiredWork with team members to ensure orders are packaged accurately and on timeOther responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
