Accounting Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and trustworthy Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our fast-paced legal environment. Key Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile vendor, client records and general ledger accounts
Monitor cash flow
Support month-end closing processes as directed by the Accounting Office Manager
Assist with accounts payable/receivable data entry and general ledger maintenance
Process settlement payments to clients
Reconcile trust accounts to trust funds
Learn all processes in accounting department
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Must have some college level accounting classes
3–5+ years of professional accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with accounting, payroll, and financial management systems
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications
Previous bookkeeping experience
Background in a law firm or small business setting
