Summer Early Childhood Teacher

The Katherine Thomas School, located in Rockville, MD, is a special education school that serves students with language, learning, and sensory motor disabilities and moderate to high functioning autism. KTS has an opening for a summer teacher to work with a few early childhood students working on their academic and social emotional goals and objectives. July 1st through August 7th, not July 3rd. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45-1:15 and Thursday 8:45-3:15 EOERate is $43-$44 per hour, depending on experience and educationNO SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLEResponsibilities of the Teacher include:Develop instruction following the MD State Curriculum providing necessary accommodation to meet individual, group, and program needsBe an expert at modifying grade level curriculum for all studentsWrite and implement IEPsCreate a supportive learning environmentSupervise TAsWork collaboratively with team membersRequired experience and education for the Teacher:MUST have a Bachelors Degree in Special EducationMaryland Special Education Teaching CertificateExperience with students on the Autism spectrum preferredTeam OrientedReliableProfessional AttitudeAt least 2 years teaching experience
