Controls Engineer

Job DescriptionCEC Controls Co. Inc. is currently recruiting for a Controls Engineer at our Louisville, KY location. The ideal candidate must be fluent with PLC ladder logic (Rockwell GLx, & CLx) and have automotive or conveyor or comparable controls experience. Must have proven track record of logic writing, the ability to diagnose problems and make PLC program changes as needed.Demonstrated troubleshooting skills are absolutely necessary.This is primarily day shift work, M-F, with occasional weekend work required.ResponsibilitiesDesign automation control systems from customer specificationsDevelop electrical drawingsResponsible for programming automation and control systems involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, vision systems, etc.Specify electrical equipment and materials including PLCs, automation control components and instrumentation based on calculations, customer specifications and engineering principlesQuickly troubleshoot hardware and software issuesDesign and debug Data Acquisition systems (SCADA)Power-up, debug, and calibration of water/wastewater and/or automotive, manufacturing control systemsFollow all company processes, check lists, and support the development of standardized design platformsSkills / QualificationsBachelor’s or Technical degree or certificate in a controls related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent) OR Five years of applicable experience in an industrial environment that includes design, debug, startup, and standby of conveyor controlsProficient in programming PLCs (i.e. Rockwell, Siemens, GE/Emerson)Proficient in programming HMI/SCADA systems (Factory Talk, Ignition, and Cimplicity)Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480VAC 3-phase, 120 VAC, 24VDC systemsAbility to read, revise and create new PLC logic, HMI/SCADA programs, and VFD parametersMust be detail oriented, capable of writing and modifying logic in conformance to client standardsExperience with conveyor systems including: Skid, Skillet, Pallet, Friction Drive, EMS, Power & FreeWilling to work various shifts and O.T.Logical thinker and problem solverOrganized & detail oriented and self-motivated with “Can Do” mindsetStrong verbal and written communication skillsAuthorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship
