Ticket Sales Internship (Fall 2026)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Premium SalesBased at: PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 (in person is required for this internship)Approximate TimelineThis internship posting will remain open until June 1st, 2026. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis and reached out with further communication by June 22nd, 2026, at the latest.Anticipated start date is September 7th, 2026 and end date is December 4th, 2026.Requirements: This internship is onsite at the Pittsburgh Penguins offices at PPG Paints Arena and is open to students entering their junior or senior year in college, with 30-40 hours of flexible availability each week. The internship is paid hourly at the rate of $10 per hour. Students remain eligible for earning course credits for their internship and will be responsible for ensuring that the internship meets the criteria of their program and/or university.Objective: Intern(s) will observe and learn the basics of how a professional ticketing department functions. Exposure includes (but is not limited to) season ticket sales, group sales, membership retention, and operations throughout the duration of the semester.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesLearn all aspects of the ticket sales processCold-call past purchasers, local businesses and organizationsSelf-prospect and search for opportunities to assist new businesses and local organizations through season ticket, group, or premium packagesUpdate customer information in Ticketmaster Archtics and/or CRM when neededAssist in the planning, development and execution of both prospecting and season ticket holder eventsConduct research and brainstorm new benefits, incentives, events, and experiences for the departmentAll other duties as assignedSkills, Experience And AbilitiesPursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or related fieldProficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointExcellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and conciselyA self-starter with a positive attitude; customer service and fan experience orientedAn ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environmentFlexibility to adapt to a frequently changing work environment, and deliver on challenging demandsPresents self in professional manner and have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contacts and maintain the highest level of confidentialityAvailable to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and home games as scheduledOpen to feedback with a strong desire to learn and grow; highly coachable and receptive to guidanceProspective employees will receive consideration without discrimination based on race, religious creed, color, sex, age, national origin, handicap, disability, military/veteran status, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or protected genetic information.
