Position Goal
The Quote Specialist will capture all RFQs to create and maintain a timely response to customer requests with fast and accurate production quotes. Lead internal communications for improved client engagements on all submissions, while building a strong and versatile customer support experience. To streamline the review process with technology driven workflows, during drawing and model interpretations to analyze the manufacturability of the part(s).
Position Responsibilities and Expectations
The Quote Specialist will act as the inbound inquiry liaison between Ashland and our customers, providing superior service and communication that meets or exceeds our internal and external customer needs. Will support and lead all RFQ, order releases and order inquiry communications to ensure timely response and opportunity management. Must accurately estimate and valuate the costs to complete machining, fabrication, and finishing demands for all RFQs with precision.
This role is hands-on and execution focused. Critically responsible for turning customer RFQs into clean, production ready quotes that support efficient manufacturing and profitable work. The ideal candidate will have experience in both CNC machining, and fabrications. However, a candidate with high level experience in either is required.
Key Duties
Understand capabilities and limitations of equipment and processes.
Maintain an RFQ-to-Quote turnaround of 48 hours
Interpret 2D and 3D drawings and models
Support basic Design to Manufacturing (DFM) considerations
Effective and efficient utilization of estimation software and ERP systems
Maintain costing database for future reference and reporting
Assist in contract/ purchase order review
Review and process all orders for production throughput
Participate in pre-production kick off and Go/No-Go review discussions
Work Location
Hybrid with heavy remote opportunity. During the onboarding and training process, candidate will be required to visit and work within our manufacturing facility in Hegins, PA. Once established, all daily responsibilities will be performed remotely. Occasional travel to Hegins facility required as needed for large project collaboration and new equipment or software implementations. Company computer, Accessories and home office support provided.
Reports to
The Quote Specialist will report to the Director of Sales, while working in tandem and on behalf of production. Meaning this position will be client communication and estimation focused, while maintaining alignment with production at all aspects of manufacturing reality.

Technical Skills
Ability to read technical drawings and 3D models
Familiarity with GD&T fundamentals
Strong computer skills required
Experience with or exposure to
CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
Machine programming software
Estimating software
ERP systems (Fulcrum a plus)
Excel proficiency required
Typing proficiency (minimum 60 WPM)
Background
Associate degree in technical field or

Impact of Role
This role extends far beyond traditional estimating. It is a position at the center of strategic transformation. The Quote Specialist will help shift Ashland Technologies from manual quoting to intelligent collaboration, from simple cost calculation to true value creation, and from being viewed as a transactional vendor to becoming a trusted strategic manufacturing partner. In doing so, this position plays a key role in helping both Ashland Technologies and its customers operate in a faster, smarter, and more fully integrated manufacturing future.
