Director of Purchasing - Restaurant

About the JobWe are looking for a talented Head of Purchasing for a GROWING restaurant brand!The Director - Head of Purchasing is responsible for leading purchasing, contract negotiation, and vendor management for all of restaurant packaging, ingredients, raw material, and logistical needs. The Head of Purchasing will also assist in developing food cost forecasting, and monitoring and reporting on the department's financials and administrative activities. This individual oversees three purchasing team members who execute the daily responsibilities of the department.JOB DUTIES FOR DIRECTOR - HEAD of PURCHASING:Purchasing Management:Manage the logistics required to promptly supply all necessary goods and ingredients to each restaurant location.Schedule orders for all goods and ingredients.Manage the transport plans for the collection and delivery of all purchased goods.Optimize and control inventory levels of all goods and ingredients.Establish and oversee the audit process to ensure accurate pricing and quantities are delivered.Forecast the cost of all purchased goods and ingredients.Monitor and report on the department's financials.Manage the theoretical food costs & compare with the actual reported food costs on a weekly basis & report on variances.Ensure the Purchasing department meets its financial targets.Research new products and technology to support Purchasing, and make recommendations to senior leadership.Review the internal ordering process and work towards improving the system to a more streamlined platform.Undertake special assignments in relation to inventory management, procurement, product distribution, and other related areas.Vendor Management:Negotiate contracts in the most favorable terms for the brand.Develop and nurture new vendor relationships.Staff Management:Embody the culture of the brand.Recruit, hire, and onboard all Purchasing staff members.Lead the professional development and performance management of all Purchasing staff members.QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIRECTOR - HEAD of PURCHASING:Work Experience Requirement:5+ years of experience in a Purchasing role with direct reports, preferably in the hospitality industry.Prior experience with R365 required.Technologically adept in Microsoft 365 Suite, especially Excel.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.DIRECTOR - HEAD of PURCHASING will receive:Competitive PayMedical, Dental and Vision401KPTOOpportunity to grow a great restaurant brand!About the Company
