Divisional Controller

Join a Growing Manufacturing Organization Where You Can Make a Difference We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Divisional Controller to oversee the accounting operations of multiple manufacturing and distribution business units while supervising shared Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this position combines financial leadership with day-to-day accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee monthly financial reporting, account reconciliations, payroll accounting, compliance, process improvement, and staff development while helping build a stronger accounting organization. Primary Responsibilities Financial Leadership Lead the monthly close process and prepare timely financial statements. Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses. Prepare consolidated financial reporting. Support annual audits and CPA requests. Operational Accounting Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations. Review payroll accounting and journal entries. Coordinate sales tax filings. Oversee commissions, customer rebates, and intercompany accounting. Ensure recurring payments and cash activity are accurately recorded. Leadership & Process Improvement Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop AP and AR staff. Establish priorities and monitor workloads. Improve accounting workflows and internal controls. Develop written procedures and cross-training. Identify issues early and recommend practical solutions. Strengthen AP and AR processes. Improve account reconciliations. Reestablish timely consolidated financial reporting. Improve accountability and visibility throughout the accounting department. Build repeatable processes that support continued growth. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum seven years of progressive accounting experience. Minimum three years supervising accounting staff. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience leading month-end close. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Preferred Manufacturing accounting. Cost accounting and inventory. Multi-entity accounting. Financial consolidations. ERP experience (Infor SyteLine preferred). QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop.
