American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.Job Details• 18-bed Trauma ICU in an acute care hospital setting, designated as a Level 1 trauma center,• Patient population includes adults and pediatric patients (15+ years) with complex diagnoses including trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest,• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 (ICU) and 1:4 (PCU),• RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics,• Specialty equipment in use includes CVPs, IABP, Impella, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll-Thermoguard, and Bell Mont rapid transfuser - training provided in real time for select devices,• Respiratory support ranges from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation,• Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry; RNs must be able to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythms - no monitor techs on unit,• EMR: Epic,• 12-hour night shifts (1830-0630),• Self-scheduling available, managed by the unit manager based on unit needs,• 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period,• Floating required to inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU,Job Requirements• Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required - pending licenses are not accepted,• Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS - pending certifications are not accepted,• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required,• Level 1 trauma center experience strongly applicable given unit acuity,• Epic EMR experience beneficial given unit complexity,• Driver's license required - used to verify permanent residence is at least 50 miles from the facility,• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position,Additional Information• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility - driver's license is used to verify permanent address,• Candidates who are currently or have been within the past year directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, are not eligible - candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered,• Unit orientation consists of 2 shifts, followed by a pass/fail open-book exam during the Friday of orientation week; a minimum score of 90% is required to pass - failure results in contract termination,• A charge nurse is present on every shift; nurse aides/patient care techs are available at a 1:18 ratio,• This is a fast-paced, critically ill environment - critical thinking, a positive attitude, and strong teamwork are key attributes for success,• Navy blue scrubs required,• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas - refusal to comply will result to contract termination,• Manager interview required for this position,
